This course is suitable for those who have already completed Irish Language 1 or who already have a grasp of only the very basics of the language.
Take your first steps in learning one of Europe's most fascinating and expressive languages. These classes, specially prepared for online learning, will guide you through the basics of the language, offering you structured lessons with a practical emphasis on the spoken language. Participants will be provided with learning materials and audio files in advance of each class. You will have plenty of opportunities to practice what you learn in a relaxed and enjoyable environment.
The course is aimed at those who have not studied Irish before or those who may have been learning Irish on their own without many opportunities for face-to-face interaction with native speakers. If you previously attended some lessons but have fallen out of practice you may also find you benefit from revisiting and reinforcing the fundamentals.
Timetable
Participants will attend one class per week from 7.00–8.30pm (Irish time) on Thursday evenings. The course includes eight live online classes starting October 2nd, 2025. There will be a mid-term break during the week beginning October 27th.
